The floor. We did get back down to the house in December just after Christmas to get the floor finished. It looks and functions so much better. It is level and fully supported.
Then we put the plywood sub floor back onto it.
After getting the floor done, we didn't work on anything for awhile. In early March we went down to clean and finish a few things in preparation for my mom to move in when she got back off her mission. She had sold her place in Spring City before she left and needed a place to stay while she home shopped. Most of the old part of the home needs cosmetic work to be livable. So we cleaned her bedroom and fixed a couple of things in the bathroom and kitchenette. She moved in shortly after she got back in March and stayed until she closed on a new home the end of June. She loved our clawfoot tub and was a great help in keeping the place clean, weeded and watered.
Shortly after she moved in she saw an ad for water shares in Fountain Green. We were able to buy 1 and a half water shares. We were so grateful. We had heard they were impossible to find. We really needed them to keep our acre watered.
We also had a really big wind storm in April. We have some very large and old trees. They need to be trimmed and maybe completely removed but they are full of dead branches. When the wind blows, we have a lot of branches that come crashing down. This wind storm brought some big branches down. We had one go through the roof of the carport and just barely miss mom's car.
Stay tuned for more adventures!
